Antonina Shevchenko
Antonina is a Kyrgyzstani-Peruvian Muay thai fighter, mixed martial artist, and competes with the UFC flyweight division. Shevchenko is the younger sister of former UFC Flyweight champion and the other UFC athlete Valentina. Antonina Shevchenko began her fighting sporting career by becoming an Muay Thai Kickboxer. She first made an appearance at the IFMA World Championship Tournament 2003 Shevchenko did well in the competition in the finals and beat Suzane Miller in the finals via unanimity. Antonina won a medal of silver in 2007 and a medal of bronze in 2008 and she won a gold medal in 2011. Antonina was also named IFMA Amateur Muaythai World Champions in the year 2016. Antonia's professional journey began in 2003. In 2012 she won her the WKC K-1 Light Welterweight World Championship as well as in the year 2016 she took home the Lion Fight Lightweight Championship and in 2016, the WMC and Phoenix FC World Championships. Antonina's fight for her final title took place in the Phoenix Fighting Championship against Isa Tidblad Keskikangas. She took victory by the unanimous verdict. Antonina Shychenko's pro MMA debut was made in 2002 at the KFK Cup of Kyrgystan during which she took on Anara Bayanova. She prevailed in the second-round TKO and won her next 2-fights at WXF: X-Impact World Championships 2003 to amass a record of three-three. Shevchenko had a short break from MMA so that she could focus on the sport of kickboxing. She made her return with a win against Anissa Haddaoui on Phoenix FC 3, 2017. Shevchenko took the victory over Anissa Haddaoui by a unanimous decision. She later defeated Valerie Domergue, at Phoenix FC 4 in the same decision. She left in 2018 the competition and began competing in Dana White's Contender Series. Shevchenko knocked out Jaimelene Nievera during Dana White's Tuesday Night Contender Series 11 Antonina's prodigious strike abilities let her TKO Nievera via knees in the body. After this win, Antonina was offered the opportunity to sign a UFC contract. Antonina Shevchenko was able to make her UFC debut in the TUF Heavy Hitters Finale vs Ji Yeon Kim. Shevchenko suffered defeat to Roxanne Modafferi in a split decision following her debut fight. Antonina has recovered from her loss through defeating Lucie Pudilova on UFC on ESPN Covington against Lawler through rear-naked-choke submission. She was awarded the fight-of-the-night bonus.
